President Bill Clinton Supports ACP AdvisorNet
American Corporate Partners (ACP), a national nonprofit organization that connects post-9/11 veterans to business professionals for career guidance, announced the launch of its new television public service announcement featuring President Bill Clinton.
ACP’s online mentoring program ACP AdvisorNet (acp-advisornet.org) – is a free, online “quick question community” connecting returning veterans to the private sector workforce. By joining ACP AdvisorNet, Americans can volunteer their time – from their homes, laptops or mobile devices – to share career advice with transitioning veterans even for just a few minutes a week. ACP AdvisorNet is a fully funded non-profit endeavor and does not seek donations. Its aim is to encourage a dialogue whereby Americans can offer career advice to those who have served.
In the PSA, President Clinton encourages Americans to “serve those who have served us.” The 30-second spot will begin airing in the weeks ahead.
“More than 1 million of our finest men and women are coming home and searching for their next career. ACP AdvisorNet offers veterans connections to thousands of private sector Advisors so that they may learn about career options, get advice on résumés and interview techniques and build networks,” stated Gen. (Ret.) David Petraeus, a senior advisor to American Corporate Partners.
“I am grateful for the support of President Clinton, General Petraeus and many others in encouraging a national dialogue,” says Sidney E. Goodfriend, Founder and Chairman of ACP. “We can all play an integral part in a veteran’s journey toward a meaningful new career by volunteering on ACP AdvisorNet.”
